Frequently Asked Questions

We are grateful for your participation in our Kids Walk. Below you will find the answers to the questions we commonly receive. If you do not see the answer to your question, please email us at kids@ccfsocal.org

We will be having an IN-PERSON mile walk as part of the Kids Walk on September 22nd. Everyone who is comfortable and healthy enough to participate in-person is encouraged to join us to walk our mile together. 

Yes! The Kids Walk will continue to have a virtual option to participate.

It’s the next best thing to being together at the Annual Kids Walk. We call it #TogetherForGOLD — As a virtual walker, you’ll join hundreds of other participants all walking for the same cause around their neighborhoods. 

The great thing about the Kids Walk is that you can participate at anytime from anywhere! Once registered, you can choose the date, time and location that works for you – we are encouraging participants to choose a day between September 1 – 22, 2024. (September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month). Then, join other walkers online by posting photos and videos to your social media accounts. Join the conversation by tagging CCFSoCal and using the hashtags #TogetherForGOLD #KidsWalk2021 #CCFSoCal. More details below.

You can also participate in the IN-PERSON mile walk on September 22, 2024 at 9:30am in Loma Linda. 

Registration is easy! Visit our REGISTER page and click “register.” You will then be directed to the walk registration. You can walk as an individual, join an existing team or create a team of your own. REGISTRATION OPENS ON JUNE 1!

Online registration for the IN-PERSON WALK & VIRTUAL WALK closes on September 20 at 9am PST. Same Day Registration will be available from 8am – 9:30am at the start of the walk in Loma Linda.

Registration is only $10 per participant. This donation helps CCFSoCal meet the funding goal for programs funded in part by this fundraiser.

Patients and Survivors walk for FREE and receive a “Stronger Than Cancer” Kids Walk Shirt if registered before August 15.


We will also send out a Kids Walk race bib for you to print from home by August 30th. Pin it on, snap some photos and share on social media as you are out in your neighborhood walking, running or riding your way through your mile.


To thank our participants for raising money in support of our cancer fighters, we are offering incentive prizes for different fundraising levels. All prizes are cumulative — so the more you raise, the more prizes you’ll receive! 

If you register between June 1 – 30 you will receive a FREE Kids Walk T-Shirt.

Meet the first fundraising goal of $100 raised and you receive a “Go Gold” Childhood Cancer Awareness t-shirt. To thank our participants for raising money in support of our cancer fighters, we are offering incentive prizes for different fundraising levels. The in-person walk will begin at the CCFSOCAL Office located at:

Parking is available at the Mountain View Plaza. Please make sure to reference the map. You can view a map of the parking lot here.

Check-in will be at the start of the walk from 8am – 9:30am.

The in-person walk will begin at 9:30am.

The walk begins at the CCF Office (11155 Mountain View Ave, Loma Linda CA) and ends at the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital Campus Mall Lawn (11175 CAMPUS ST, LOMA LINDA CA) You can view the WALK ROUTE HERE.

Fundraise! Pledge to walk a mile, raise money, win prizes and help our fighters! Get the momentum going by recruiting family, friends and coworkers to join you in the walk to raise awareness of childhood cancer. Our hope is that you will join us in our efforts to meet our goal to raise $25,000 to support the hundreds of families each year who rely on these imperative support programs provided by Childhood Cancer Foundation.

All you need to do is post about your participation in the Virtual Kids Walk on your personal social media accounts. We want to see your photos and videos so to help us find your posts, be sure to tag us: @ccfsocal on Facebook and Instagram.

Hashtags are another way we can find your posts, so try to include at least one of the following: #TogetherForGOLD #KidsWalk #CCFSoCal.

We are asking our virtual walkers to go the extra mile for children diagnosed with cancer. Beginning September 1st through the 22nd – pick any day (or every day!) to get at least ONE (1) mile in. Whether it’s a bit each day totaling a mile, or a commitment of a mile a day – make sure to get that last lap in by September 22nd!

Share your photos and post your distance in our Virtual Race Results Page – this is where all participants will “connect” virtually for the walk. We will also be presenting an award to the participant with the most miles completed (more on that below) so make sure to post your miles!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Join us and our community of supporters as we rally together to walk  in  support of all those touched by childhood cancer.

The walk will conclude on September 22nd to close out Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Join us as we go LIVE for the “Kids Walk: LAST LAP” After Party on our Facebook on September 22nd to celebrate the close of our Virtual Kids Walk at 11am PST.

We will go LIVE to celebrate and share posts of all those who have participated in going the extra mile for children diagnosed with cancer. We will also announce award winners (more on that below), raffle winners and our fundraising total at the conclusion of the LIVE Broadcast. Make sure to follow us on Facebook!

• Most Miles Completed

• Most Spirited Team (In-Person Event)
