It was a painful experience, it still is. As a parent I truly believe you can carry very heavy burdens throughout life, but when it comes to your child having to face something, it kills you slowly. He struggled in the first year. Adapting to something new and with challenges every day, it was hard. It really affected our lifestyle by being his hands, his eyes, his legs and himself truly. For some time Andrew was not able to walk because he was in so much pain and we had to carry him or push him around in a stroller. He was not able to do a lot of physical activities like he used to. It was draining for our family and it became exhausting, however, he’s been a warrior. As a family we are so proud of him!
