Being a teenager is already a challenging stage of life, and a cancer diagnosis can make it even more difficult. Connecting with other teens who are facing similar experiences can be incredibly meaningful and healing. Teen Connection was created in July 2002 at the request of teen patients to provide a safe, supportive space where teens diagnosed with cancer can come together with youth and adult facilitators to socialize, share experiences, support one another, and simply enjoy being teens.
Teen Connection meets regularly throughout the year and offers a variety of fun, age-appropriate activities at no cost to teen patients and survivors. These activities include trips to Disneyland, Knott’s Scary Farm, arcade outings, bowling, virtual Zoom events, and many other memorable experiences designed to foster connection, confidence, and peer support.
