Raymound Lopez: A Fighter Through Every Battle

Born on February 2, 2016, Raymound Lopez is a brave, bright, and resilient child whose journey through life took an unexpected turn far too soon. Before illness entered his world, Raymound loved the simple joys of childhood—going to school and spending time at the beach, where he could play in the sand and let the waves tickle his toes. He was full of life, energy, and curiosity.

But at age 6, everything began to change.

What doctors first called “growing pains” turned out to be something far more serious. After weeks of discomfort and uncertainty, Raymound was diagnosed with Pre B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The diagnosis shook his family to the core. What they thought might be a routine check-up turned into the beginning of an exhausting and emotional journey through cancer treatment.

The impact was both emotional and financial. Life revolved around hospital visits, medications, tests, and the rollercoaster of watching a child you love fight something so big. The family was stretched thin, trying to remain strong for Raymound while managing the endless medical needs and the emotional toll of uncertainty.

As if leukemia wasn’t enough for one small child to face, Raymound was recently diagnosed with Moyamoya disease—a rare and progressive disorder in which blood vessels in the brain become severely narrowed, reducing blood flow and increasing the risk of stroke. For Raymound, the narrowing is on the right side of his brain, and doctors have determined that a bypass surgery will soon be necessary to allow proper blood flow.

Until that surgery takes place, Raymound is on blood thinners to reduce the risk of further complications. He faces another MRI scan in the coming months, followed by critical discussions about the surgery and its risks.

Through it all, Raymound continues to show incredible strength. He has faced cancer and now a rare brain disease with a courage that is hard to comprehend. His story is not just about the battles he’s endured—but the love, persistence, and hope that carries him forward every single day.

Raymound is not defined by the things he’s fighting. He is defined by the strength with which he fights them.
