Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California recognizes that a childhood cancer diagnosis affects the entire family. We’ve developed the following program services to provide support to not only the patient, but additionally the entire family.

Emergency Assistance

Available to families with special needs; such as grocery shopping vouchers, gas vouchers, transport assistance, clothing, etc.

Assistance is provided through social worker referral.

ReFRESH Grocery Distribution

Bi-Weekly Grocery Distribution available to families. Includes a variety of products: fresh produce, dairy, milk, protein, etc.

"Doug-Out" Housing

Two-bedroom House provides a home for parents to stay while their child is receiving treatment at no cost.

Teen Connection

This program provides teens ages 14-18 years who have been diagnosed with cancer an opportunity to meet other teens who have had cancer. They participate in group discussion and activities/outings throughout the year.

Weekly Parent Breakfast Support Meeting

Weekly support meeting including coffee, juice and light breakfast items, provided to parents at the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

"We Care" Gift Distribution

Weekly gift distribution for children in the hospital throughout the year. Children in treatment find themselves hospitalized weeks on end, and the weekly gift distribution gives the child something to look forward to each week.

Parent Pantry

A pantry stocked with non-perishable food items, snacks and drinks is made available to parents and visitors of patients on the Oncology/Hematology Unit of the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. Pantry is at no-cost and fully accessible at any time of the day directly on the unit.

Bereavement Assistance

Financial assistance for funeral services when needed.

Grief counseling provided in the greater Inland Empire area of San Bernardino County through partnership with Parents at A Loss Foundation.

Birthday Gift Program

Birthdays are extra special, and each registered patient receives a handwritten birthday card with a gift coupon to redeem in exchange for a gift at the CCFSoCal office.

Family Events

CCF hosts several Family events that provide emotional and social support to families. Events include: Christmas Celebration, Movie in the Park, Trunk or Treat, Spring Egg Hunt, and Memorial Candle Lighting Ceremony.

Special Events

Families receive opportunities to attend special events through generous donations. These events allow families to enjoy a day of happiness and create special memories to last a lifetime. Events include: Baseball Games, Basketball Games, special events, etc.

Educational Support

Educational materials are provided to families; including brochures, literature and access to helpful resources online.

Hospital Visitation

Newly diagnosed families are visited by a CCFSoCal Staff Member while at the hospital. These visits are an opportunity to introduce the program and help families feel less isolated and alone in dealing with their child’s cancer diagnosis.

lunch pak program

Lunch Paks are prepared and delivered weekly to the outpatient clinic. Clinic visits can be hours long and this provides an accessible meal at their child’s side.

DIAPER BANK program

CCF is happy to be able to provide up to 75 diapers per child per month for all families of our program.
